SIDE HUSTLE IN CAMPUS

Student of Moi University painting a residential

Guess what? Not only is he a painter but also a student due to hardship life in campus. This student has decided to paint houses to make both ends meet as there are many residential being constructed around Moi University making it advantageous to him. He usually does this when out of class, learning and working at the same time. Campus life may not be a bed of Roses as some people may think.

This is how students try to meet their needs in other ways of income.

DOING IT DIFFERENTLY

It’s a normal routine to every human being to serve the stomach during lunch time but to some students of Moi University from the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness have decided to take their lunch every week day by preaching the gospel to their peers and the business men around, at a Centre nearby the campus known as Stage.

These students have decided to do this without ceasing and with a lot of determination that the public also get spiritual food.

‘DEGREE’ GONE

There has been rise in the death of students of higher learning institutions. You hear of girlfriend being killed by a boyfriend and vice versa and the cause of this you hear to be cheating; unfaithfulness in relationship. This has become too much to the ears of the public until it’s no longer a news. Parents back at home have higher expectation of their daughter or son who is in campus. They expect a lot and just see a new dawn coming on the way and this has extended to the estate and also the villages in which these students come from. Gosh!!! on the middle of the way to the new dawn, sad news caught up with the family of the cherished guy who is seen as the apple of the family, to be dead as a result of being stabbed with a knife by a friend or colleague because of the very issues of relationship; worse off if the guy comes from a humble background and is the one seen as the as the only hope. This may escalate to a more sad situation if the mother of the deceased is a widow and has struggled to raise this person in question. All the hopes the family or the widow had, fades away and inflicts a lot a pain to the living. If this contagious disease of relationship thing that affects almost everyone ends up in such an ugly incident, is it really a must to be in one, and if I may ask, what has become of the students in these institutions, what has really gone a mess?

BEST OF TOUGH TIMES

No one ever wishes to be in difficult times. Everyone wants to be in that happy moments when everything run smooth and all is well. But we must understand this one fact, that life can’t be a straight line, it must have curves; ups and downs and so on. There comes a time when things are well and bad. What I really love about tough times is that it takes away fake friends. Wait until you are faced with tough times, that’s when you’ll really know who are truly your friends. Those hanging around you because of your goodies or perhaps benefits, will melt away but may pretend to be near. Despite the trials this time may come with, it helps one gauge his or her friends and also know some of their characteristics. Truly tough times filter fake friends!!!

BEWITCHED BRAINS

Human brains are the most effective and efficient in working. It does work in 24hours a day and 7days in a week without getting malfunctioned. These brains come up with big ideas and great innovations. But guess what!!! Some of these brains may shock you, particularly when one is taking exams and falling in love but of course the latter is not a news. When one falls deeply in love, he/she can do anything and everything so long as the heart is pleased, this at times may be done regardless of the negative consequences that may follow. In the case of taking exams, 50℅ if not 70℅ people believe in cheating in exams in order to pass. These kind of people don’t believe they can make it without cheating. In my own perspective, I tend to believe that these kind of people are the worst cowards; they don’t trust their brains. Shockingly, you may found that for instance, a well behaved pupil who used to pass out of genuine efforts in primary school just get influenced by lazy fellows and start cheating at secondary education level and this may be the trend also in institutions of higher learning. Is it that the exams are so hard or what? How can such a good brain be wasted just like that, who has bewitched these brains?
